Qcord is our first public release. It is a client-side mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge that puts a live webcam above each player's head, lets you share a screen or a window together with its sound, and adds voice chat to your party. Nothing is installed on the Minecraft server, so it works on vanilla servers, modded servers and public networks alike.
What is in 1.0
- Cameras above heads: up to 16 in a private party, 48 in a server lobby. Cameras you cannot see are not sent to you.
- Screen sharing with the sound of the shared window or the whole system, minus Minecraft.
- Party voice through WebRTC echo cancellation and noise suppression. Mute holds at the wire, not only at the microphone.
- Everything encrypted end to end. The relay carries bytes it cannot read.
- Invitations delivered through the relay, never through Minecraft chat, with a safety code on both screens.
- Server lobbies, and an optional server mod, Qcord-SL, that lets a server hold its own lobby key.
- Eighteen translations. Windows and macOS; Linux is untested.
