Blocky Music

A rhythm mod for Minecraft: four lanes, a chart editor, and a stage with a DJ rack, speakers and cameras. Beatmaps live in a workshop of their own.

Challenge a player or a mob with a microphone and the battle starts: notes fall in four lanes, you set the keys, the colours, the note shape and the scroll speed, and calibration keeps the sound and the input honest. Charts you make in the editor, or import from other rhythm games, become maps you can play alone, against a friend or in front of a crowd on a stage you built: a DJ rack with a playlist, an equalizer and effects, speakers that place the sound in the world, and cameras that give the audience an angle. The Blocky Music Workshop is where the maps come from. It opens over the game with Alt+B: search, hear a preview, install in one press, read a map's page with its ratings and comments, and publish your own charts without leaving Minecraft. It also works as a website at blocky-music.qwu.world, on the same qwu.world account. Publishing is open to anyone with an account, under rules the Workshop states plainly, and it is 16+. The mod is in development and the network protocol changes between builds, so a server and its players need the same one.
